Director, Jericho Brass
Frank Hale, a graduate from the University of Tennessee, began his pubic school band directing career in Knoxville in the late sixties and in the seventies moved to Chattanooga to continue his teaching career at Hixson High School for the next three decades. Hixson H.S. developed recognition for excellence locally, nationally and internationally during this time.
In the mid-nineties Frank was appointed Director of European Operations for World Projects International Music Productions. During his approximately ten year stint with World Projects, Frank toured musical groups to nearly 30 different countries and developed several international music events such as the London International Band Festival, Carnegie Hall International Band Festival and the Budapest International Orchestra Festival. In the year 2000 Frank served on the production team for the opening ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics in Australia.
Mr. Hale served on the Executive Board of the East Tennessee School Band & Orchestra Association for 26 years of his career in various elected positions, including President of the Association. In addition, he has served as the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Tennessee Music Education Association for eight years, and also served as the All State Band Chair. Mr. Hale is a recipient of the National Band Association Certificate of Excellence and an elected member of Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity. He has served as a clinician and guest conductor throughout the Southeastern US, Hawaii, Australia, Europe, and Japan.
Since 1998 Frank began performing with the Jericho Brass on baritone, trombone, bass trombone and as assistant conductor. He has served as conductor of the Jericho Brass since 2008. Frank has said that, “Of all my many great musical experiences, being a part of the Jericho Brass ranks at the top. My many friends in Jericho make music making a pleasure.”
